Trusting Nature? It’s Questionable.

I just want to say that I've always been told that when the pecan trees
bud out their leaves it means the freezing weather is over for the season.
I've noticed they are all budding and some even leafing but Monday and
Tuesday we are to expect a light freeze. What is the world coming to when
we can't depend on nature for our predictions?

BFA, I'm thinking you may want to be extra
cautious in trusting your squirrel this year.

LOL

bobcat, I am so glad you addressed that to me because I have been noticing that all the trees around me are budding BUT my pecan trees are NOT and stated as much to my son. As you know when the squirrel (Now named Real Pearl) starts storing green pecans it is a warning, I have been wondering if this means we will have a late starting hurricane season. I thank you for worry about my trust in Real Pearl, but we're ok. the barefootangel

You're Welcome, i'm just wondering, is that a Grey Squirrel or a Fox Squirrel? One does seem to be more accurate than the other

Cowboy----like a squirrl doll, you know, like just so lovable and cute. Last year I was on the deck one morning having coffee, my mind lost in space and I finally heard a noise and turned and she was on the trunk of the pecan tree about three feet from my deck, yelling at me and YES she was waving. I started laughing, she was sooo cute.

Ok, I put "I have been wondering if this means we will have a late starting hurricane season". But after talking it over with the squirrel (Real Pearl), she agreed and I did not come back and add that. So sue me. Silly barefootangel

I know now is the time to prepare for hurricane season and I hope everyone will do this. I guess everyone in the area knows what to do and the things you need to get fresh supplies of.
the squirrel and I have been studying the signs and we don't see any named storms hitting this area for the next seven weeks. Or until July, when we will take another reading. Now of course, always listen to your weather man because that squirrel might miss by a day or so. the bfa
